Welcome
to the online home for the Ashe Massage
Center (AMC). Owned by Marjorie
Shinkle, a nationally certified professional
with over 1000 hours of training, the AMC's
mission statement is simple:
 "We want to reduce and
eliminate pain where possible, thereby
restoring functionality, so that people can
regain control of their lives and NOT
have to live with daily pain."
"We also want to be
an active participant in our North Carolina
mountain community and give back to an area
that has been so kind and gracious to us."
Although many of AMC's
clients are self-referred (ie they call up
and make their own appointments simply
because they want to "feel better"), many of
AMC's clients are
doctor referred.
Per a doctor's
prescription, individual patients are
treated for specific ailments using a system
of manually applied techniques designed to
reduce pain, establish normal tissue
tension, create a positive tissue
environment and to normalize musculoskeletal
movement. When a
patient is doctor referred,
their course of treatment is
continued until the end of the
prescription. At that
point, their doctor will
reevaluate the patient to decide
if further medical massage
treatment is needed.
If a
patient's insurance covers the
cost of the medical massage
treatment (most people do not realize that they have health insurance coverage for many
medical massage
services), then AMC can quite often directly bill the health insurance, thereby
saving the patient both time and
money.
